Greenbank Team and Pairs Boccia Tournament 2017
More than 80 competitors from across the country took part in the Team and Pairs Boccia Tournament, held at Greenbank Sports Academy, on 21st October.
Organiser Steve Sullivan commented:
“This was a very friendly and competitive event which resulted in two excellent finals between evenly matched teams.
Many thanks to all the volunteers who supported the event on the day and to the club coaches and staff, who trained the competitors to such a high standard and ensured that the players enjoyed the event.”
He added:
“Boccia is a priority development sport at the Academy and we have organised a singles event for disabled players only. The Greenbank Open Singles Boccia Tournament 2018 will take place on Sunday 21st January and the closing date for entries is 12th January.”

Enter our competition to design a Christmas Card for Greenbank
It’s that time of year again when we have a competition to design our Christmas Card to send out to our customers, supporters, colleagues and friends. We have an exciting change this year too – your design will be available online for anyone to send to their family and friends at the same time as supporting Greenbank on www.dontsendmeacard.com.
As well as your card being available to send online you could also win a £20 Gift Voucher plus 10 Printed Christmas Cards. You have 3 chances of winning so get started on your design now!
How to enter
You can produce your design in any way you wish – it could be a drawing, painting, collage or a photograph.
Your design should preferably fit into a square shape on an A4 sheet to ensure it looks the same when reproduced as an e-card.
Send your design by email to info@greenbank.org.uk or post to Christmas Card Competition, Greenbank, Greenbank Lane, Liverpool L17 1AG – Please include your name, contact details and your design.
We will accept the following file types: PDF, JPEG, TIFF, EPS. Please ensure that it is high resolution (300dpi) at actual size to ensure good quality print.
The closing date for entries is Monday 20 November 2017, 5pm
Competition Rules
By entering the competition, entrants are giving Greenbank the right to use their design, copyright free.
There are 3 prizes available of £20 and a pack of 10 cards printed with their winning design.
By entering the competition, the prize winner gives their agreement to publicity about their win (or if under 16 this is needs to be given by parent / guardian).
Participants must be based in the UK. Prizes will only be sent to a UK mainland address.
One entry per person.
The 3 winners will be chosen by a judging panel of 3 people.
The Judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Winners will be contacted via email or post. The winners’ names will be displayed on our website and on card incorporating their design.
Greenbank is compliant with the Data Protection Act 1998 and will not pass entrants’ details to a third party.

Power Hockey Tournament for Merseyside Schools
30 children from schools across Merseyside took part in the first Power Hockey tournament, of the new academic year, at Greenbank Sports Academy on 9th October 2017.
Broadgreen International School (Liverpool) were the First Division winners, narrowly defeating Sandfield Park A team, 2 – 1.
In the Second Division final, Lansbury Bridge A (St Helens) defeated their B team by same score.

Panathlon Swimming Gala
Staff and volunteers from Greenbank Sports Academy supported the organisation of the Panathlon Swimming Gala, at Lansbury Bridge School on Thursday 5th October.
47 disabled children from Lansbury Bridge (St Helens), Merefield (Sefton), Sandfield Park (Liverpool) and Bluebell Park (Knowsley) took part in the event, which was organised to increase the confidence and swimming ability of participants. Activities included raft races, treasure hunts and realty races.
Overall event winners were Merefield School who beat Lansbury Bridge by 5 points.
