Panathlon Challenge Boccia Tournament 2018

We were delighted to organise and host the Panathon Challenge Deaf Boccia Tournament on 29th January 2018,  for twenty-five deaf children, attending schools across Merseyside, .

Primary tournament winners, Knotty Ash A, were unbeaten throughout the event whilst Cavendish School were the winners of the Secondary category.

Julie Metcalf, Lead Teacher of the Deaf and Teacher for Visual Impairment at Halton Borough Council said:

“The children had such a great time meeting other deaf peers. We have had wonderful comments from parents and children on how much they enjoyed themselves.”


Schools Football Tournament 2018

Well done to the players from Knowsley Central, Clare Mount, Crosby High, Woodchurch High, Abbots Lea and Alt Bridge who competed in the Moderate Learning Difficulty (MLD) Schools Football Tournament at Greenbank Sports Academy on 19th January.

The event involved 8 teams from Key Stage 2 and 3 and 3 teams from Key Stage 4.

Andrew Miskimmin from Alt Bridge School, Knowsley said:
“My players were still on a high when they got back to school and thoroughly enjoyed the day.”

Greenbank Sports Academy played host to the Greenbank Open Boccia Tournament on 21st January and welcomed 53 players from across the country.

Organiser Steve Sullivan said:
“This was a great tournament, with a high standard of play throughout the day. Congratulations to the winners and a huge thank you to referees and volunteers who did an excellent job to help the tournament run so smoothly and efficiently.”

To encourage further development of Boccia we have a team event for players with a disability on Sunday 18th March 2018 at Greenbank Sports Academy.

Key Stage 3 Basketball Tournament 2018

Approximately 50 children from Crosby High, Clare Mount, Woodchurch High, Merefield and Palmerston Schools took part in the Key Stage 3 Basketball Tournament, on 15th January 2018, at Greenbank Sports Academy.

Congratulations to Clare Mount School’s A team, who were the winners in the Intermediate category, after beating their school mates’ B team by a convincing 10 points to nil.

Well done also to Merefield School’s A team who were victorious against Palmerston A, scoring 8 points to 4 and Palmerston School’s B team, who beat Woodchurch High B by 6 points to 2 in the Novices A and B finals respectively
