Easter Holiday Activity Days

Approximately 20 disabled children have had a fantastic time this Easter Holiday, taking part in a wide range of activities including hockey, wheelchair basketball, cycling, flower pot painting, mask making and even an Easter Egg Hunt.

Margaret Curran, Mum of Ellie, aged 13, who has cerebral palsy and regularly attends school holiday and after school sessions at the Academy is enthusiastic about the sessions available and commented:

“The reason Ellie loves it so much is that she feels that she doesn’t get treated differently to any other child.  She has lots of independence and the space available is fantastic – Ellie can move round freely. It’s great that siblings can go to sessions too – it gives Ellie and her brother Josh some quality time together.”

Organiser Steve Hoskins added:

“It’s all about the children having fun and working together in a team environment.”

The next school holiday activity days for disabled children, their family and friends (aged 8 to 16), at Greenbank Sports Academy, are planned for Thursday 28 and Friday 29 May from 10am to 4pm.
