Final 2014/15 Fixture – Merseyside Ability Counts Football League

We hosted the final fixture of the FA Merseyside Ability Counts 2014/15 season on 27 April. Teams playing in three Ability Counts Leagues; Primary Severe Learning Disability (SLD), Secondary Severe Learning Disability (SLD) and Secondary Physical Disability were involved, as local schools competed to top their league.

Mark Thomas, PE Co-ordinator at Palmerston School, whose A and B teams were winners and runners up respectively of the Secondary SLD League, explained what taking part meant to his pupils:

“We’ve brought along a squad of 13 to play today and they are so excited – it’s the highlight of their year! It means so much to be able to work together as a team and enjoy the camaraderie of playing competitively. Both teams are a credit to the school and they should be very proud of their performance.”

Organiser Steve Sullivan commented “The atmosphere today has been great – congratulations to all of the teams involved for making is a fantastic season.”
