Lord’s Taverners Regional Boccia Qualifier 2018

Approximately 98 children, representing 24 teams from across the North West took part in the Lord’s Taverners Disability Regional Boccia Qualifier at Greenbank Sports Academy on 8th February 2018.

The purpose of the event was to decide who would represent the North West in the Lord’s Taverners U19 National Boccia Championships, later in the year.

Following a day of intense competition, this honour was awarded to Broadgreen International School (Merseyside) for the Physical Disability category and The Nelson Thomlinson School (Cumbria) in the Pan Disability category.

Tournament Organiser, Steve Sullivan said:

“A big thank you to all of the volunteers and the young sports leaders from schools across the region, students from Greenbank Sports Academy and individuals who did an excellent job to help the tournament run as smoothly as possible.

I would also like to say a massive thank you to Lord’s Taverners, Boccia England and Panathlon Association for their continued support of this event, which has done so much for the development of Boccia in the counties.”
