Well done to all the players who took part in the Merseyside Schools MLD Football Tournament held at Greenbank Sports Academy on 22^nd January.

Players were split into three age groups; primary, secondary years 7, 8 and 9 and secondary years 10 and 11. There was a high standard of play in all age groups and the tournament was very competitive.

Congratulations to Primary winners Knowlsey Central, Secondary year 7,8 and 9 winners Woodchurch High (above, left) and Secondary year 10 and 11 winners Alt Bridge (above, right).

Mark Horlick, Disability Football Development Officer at Liverpool County FA commented:

“There were some excellent games played throughout the day, especially the finals in all categories which were very entertaining to watch.

The hard work of players, teachers and coaches is reflected in the standard of play exhibited throughout the tournament and everyone involved should be congratulated.

Thanks also to the referees and volunteers who ensured that everything ran smoothly.”
