New disability sports venues available at Fairfield and Huyton

We have been offering low cost sports activities for disabled people aged 14 and over, as part of the Choices Merseyside project since last July, thanks to funding from Sport England.

To cater for demand two of the original venues, in Liverpool and Knowsley have been changed.

Ambulant (run about) sports including Basketball, Football, Cricket and Racquet Sports are now on offer for just £1 per session at:

  • Knowsley Leisure and Culture Park, Longview Drive, Huyton, Liverpool L36 6EG on Saturdays from 2 to 4pm
  • Fairfield Phab, Jubilee Sports Bank, Jubilee Drive, Kensington, Liverpool L7 8SJ on Saturdays from 10am to 12 noon

Choices Merseyside Sport Development Officer Steve Sullivan said “It’s great to be able to offer sport for disabled people within their own communities. Keeping active and involved with sport is important for everyone and we aim to remove the barriers faced by disabled people, which prevent participation. Come along, join in and get fit in 2015.”
