Panathlon Schools Football Tournament for Deaf Children

We are pleased to be hosting the Panathlon Schools Football Tournament for Deaf Children on Thursday 3 December 2015 (International Day of Disabled Persons) here at Greenbank Sports Academy.

The tournament is open to mainstream/special schools in Merseyside for children who have a hearing impairment and will run from 10.30am to 2.30pm. There are two age groups – Primary & Secondary. Each school can have a squad of 8 players and teams can include boys and girls and the tournament will be run under normal 5-A-side rules. These will be distributed once entry forms are returned.

The number of entries received will determine the playing time of the matches.

Medals will be awarded to winners and runners up and every player will receive a certificate.

Organiser James Dixon (Greenbank Sports Academy Coach) commented:

“We want to encourage as many deaf children as possible to get involved and take part in this exciting competition.”

James plays for the England Deaf Cricket team with the support of his interpreter.
