Primary Panathlon Challenge 2018
Fifty-eight children, representing five local authorities, took part in the Primary Panathlon Challenge at Greenbank Sports Academy on 19th April.
The event, which included Boccia, table tennis, table cricket, football, slalom and athletics, involved children from Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens, Knowsley and Halton.
After an exciting day of multi-sports, St Helens were declared gold medallist with 50 points, with silver awarded to Liverpool on 46 points and Halton in bronze medal position on 36 points.
John Mannion, manager of the Lansbury Bridge School team (representing St Helens), commented:
“Panathlon Challenge is a great, inclusive event, that allows all children to achieve.
We’ve had a fantastic day.”
Organiser Steve Sullivan added:
“We are extremely grateful to Panathlon Association for their continued support of this excellent multi-sport event.
It brought together local schools and volunteers from Greenbank College and John Moores University for an excellent day of competition and fun.”
