School Holiday Activities for Disabled Children
Get involved has been the message for disabled children from Greenbank Sports Academy this summer holiday.
Activity days including arts and sports such as cricket, cycling, basketball, football as well as days out, have been on offer for disabled children and their siblings on selected dates during August at the south Liverpool sports centre.
So far approximately 25 children have taken part and comments from the children included:
“Great Fun!’ “I’ve enjoyed making a monster the best!”
Activity Programme Leader Steve Hoskins said:
“It’s really important for disabled children to have the same opportunities to take part in activities and have fun that non-disabled children have.
It’s been a fantastic summer programme. As well as sport, there is also an opportunity to take part in arts sessions, plus we’ve been on a trip to Moel Famau and we’re going bowling next week.”
Sessions run every school holiday (except Christmas). Details and booking at greenbanksportsacademy.co.uk
