Schools Cricket Tournament 2016
One hundred and twenty disabled children from seven schools across Merseyside took part in a Schools Cricket Tournament, organised by Greenbank Sports Academy and Lancashire Cricket Board (LCB). The event took place at Alder Cricket Club, in glorious sunshine on Thursday 9th June.
Coach at the event and UK Deaf Sport Ambassador and England Deaf International Cricketer James Dixon commented:
“There have been some great games, across all categories, which reflect the effort put in by all of the children and staff. It’s so important for the development of the games that children and young people have the opportunity to play cricket competitively.
Thanks to all the players, teachers, umpires from LCB, individual volunteers and umpires/staff at Alder Cricket Club who made this event so successful.”
