Stockport Tigers Triumph in Tense Team Boccia Final

A tense and closely fought final between Stockport Tigers and Cheshire D marked the end of an exciting Team Boccia Tournament at Greenbank Sports Academy on 15th January. Stockport Tigers were the eventual victors, with a tight 5 v 4 score line as they maintained their unbeaten record.

Organiser Steve Sullivan said;

“It’s been a great day, which was well supported with sixteen teams travelling from across the country to take part.

The standard of play was high and professionally refereed by students from Greenbank and Liverpool John Moores University and Anne and Tim Craddock.”

He added:

“We offer many opportunities for disabled people to play Boccia competitively; it’s this month’s mini-league sport at the Academy and we’ve got an event planned on 19th March which is open to all disabled players.
