Greenbank are excited to be delivering a free Holiday Activity Club over the summer holidays to children and young people aged 12 – 17 and who get free school meals.

The club is part of the Holiday and Food Programme which is being funded by the Department for Education for children and young people affected by the pandemic, and offers a safe and supportive environment where children can learn, be active, eat well, meet new friends and thrive this summer.

The HAF programme is in response to the pandemic and new data that revealed that 30% of parents of school-aged children are worried about feeding their children over the summer holidays. This is higher among parents with children (aged 8-16) on Free School Meals with 49% worried about feeding their children over the summer holidays. 

What is the Greenbank Holiday Activity Club?

The club will be delivered every Monday, Tuesday Wednesday and Friday from Monday 26 July until Friday 27 August at 9.30am – 3.30pm. 

All children will receive a free nutritious lunch and snacks on the days they attend.

There will be a range of activities available including:

• Sport and Physical Activity – Football, basketball, badminton, table tennis, Boccia, wheelchair sports, cycling, walking, keep fit, Activity Bingo
• Gaming
• Art and Crafts
• Gardening
• Music
• Healthy Eating – Learn how to prepare simple foods such as sandwiches

Sessions are inclusive and so activities are suitable for children with SEN or additional needs. Please contact us to discuss this further, but please note that our staff/volunteers cannot provide any personal care such as toileting or clothes changing.

Greenbank’s Holiday Active Club is part of the HAF programme being delivered across Liverpool by Merseyside Play Action Council (MPAC) on behalf of Liverpool City Council. A list of providers in Liverpool can be found on their website.
