Greenbank has launched an exciting new Energy for Tomorrow Crowdfunder, raising funds towards the installation of 200 solar panels on the roof of Greenbank Sports Academy in Liverpool.
The campaign aims to raise £40,000, helping Greenbank reduce its energy costs, lower its carbon footprint and ensure more of the charity’s resources can be directed towards supporting the people and communities who use its services.
£1 could become £4
Greenbank has been successful in securing support through the British Gas Energy for Tomorrow programme.
This means eligible individual donations can benefit from 3:1 match funding, up to a £250 individual donation.
So, subject to the match-funding criteria:
£5 could become £20 | £25 could become £100 | £50 could become £200 | £100 could become £400 | £250 could become £1,000
This provides a fantastic opportunity for the Greenbank community, supporters and friends to make their donations go considerably further.

Why solar energy matters to Greenbank
Greenbank Sports Academy provides inclusive opportunities for disabled and non-disabled people to participate in sport, physical activity, health and wellbeing programmes.
The Academy is also home to community clubs, disability sport programmes and athletes, alongside providing facilities for Greenbank College students and the wider community.
Installing approximately 200 solar panels could help Greenbank save over £1,000 per month in electricity costs and reduce CO? emissions by more than 17,000kg.
Reducing ongoing energy costs isn’t simply about saving money. Every saving helps Greenbank protect resources that can instead be invested in its facilities, equipment, programmes and the people it supports.
The project therefore combines environmental sustainability with Greenbank’s wider commitment to creating positive social impact.
Local businesses – can you help?
Greenbank is also inviting businesses and organisations across Liverpool and the wider region to support the campaign by donating Crowdfunder rewards.
Businesses could contribute products, vouchers, tickets, experiences or services which can then be made available as rewards to people supporting the Crowdfunder.
Potential rewards could include restaurant or hospitality vouchers, sports and entertainment tickets, family experiences, hotel stays, retail products, health and wellbeing experiences, professional services or something completely unique.
