What is Arm Cycling?
Arm cycling is a form of exercise where you use your arms and upper body to pedal on a stationary machine, similar to a bicycle. Its an exercise class to music. It’s a great way to get a cardiovascular workout and strengthen your upper body, especially for those who may have leg injuries or other limitations.
Programme developed by University of Birmingham Move Well Centre and adopted at Greenbank. Classes are structured like a spin class but for arms, with the spin speed changing in line with the tempo of the accompanying music. The classes are high energy, motivational and fun. Any abilities welcome. Social element of sessions.
Classes run for 45 minutes every Monday at 12noon and Thursday at 3pm in 8-week blocks. Free for Academy Gym members and £4 per session for non members.
