
Lord’s Taverners Regional Boccia Qualifier 2017
Approximately 110 children from across the North West took part in the Lord’s Taverners Pan Disability Regional Boccia Qualifier at Greenbank Sports Academy on 2nd February 2017.
The purpose of the event was to decide who would represent the North West in the National Finals at the English Institute of Sport (EIS), Sheffield on 3rd May. Following a day of intense competition, this honour was awarded to Pendle Vale (Lancashire) for Pan Disability and Hebden Green School (Cheshire) in the Physical Disability category.
Richard Evans, Performance Manager at Boccia England said:
“Events like this offer a great opportunity for local and regional talent to be noticed and accelerated to a national level.”
Tournament Organiser, Steve Sullivan added:
“A big thank you to all of the volunteers and the young sports leaders from schools across the region, students from Greenbank Sports Academy and individuals who did an excellent job to help the tournament run as smoothly as possible.
I would also like to say a massive thank you to Lord’s Taverners and Boccia England for their continued support of this event, which has done so much for the development of Boccia in the counties.”
