Mark Palmer

Sports Development Manager

Mark has worked at Greenbank Sports Academy for over 21 years, initially joining as a Sport Development Officer. Mark is a Paralympian having represented Great Britain at the Sydney 2000 games, and winning European and World titles in Table Tennis. He has extensive knowledge of disability and Paralympic sport, and completed a MRes in Sport Leadership and Professional Development in 2019. Mark forms part of the Greenbank Senior Leadership Team, and has a passion for developing community based programmes and club development opportunities for disabled people. Mark represents Greenbank on a range of local and national networks.

Power Hockey Business Development Manager

“I am presently funded by Sport England to develop the sport of Power Hockey nationally. The sport involves specialist electric wheelchairs that enable disabled people to play hockey. I am a wheelchair racing coach and I coach Paralympic standard athletes. I also help with the management of the Sports Academy  and I am an active member of the Fundraising Committe.”

Carl Parletti

Sports Leader

Carl has worked at Greenbank Sports Academy for over 15 years, gaining extensive experience in the sports and gym facilities. He is a fully qualified Personal Trainer with a passion for helping clients of all ages and abilities achieve their fitness goals. Carl provides tailored fitness advice, one-to-one training, and ongoing support to help individuals build strength, improve overall health, and feel more confident in the gym.

“Summer deals with our reception, helps with daily operations, supports the manager and staff, coordinations large events, and customer service for our busy sports and leisure facility. His role encompasses everything from facility bookings and event management to ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and managing customer relationships. Summer works closely with external suppliers, partners, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations and aims to maximise revenue growth.”
