Fifty-five competitors from across the country took part in the Merseyside Open Boccia Tournament at Greenbank Sports Academy on 9^th July.

Organiser Steve Sullivan said:

“The standard of play has improved again this year which is testament to all the work players, coaches and support staff have done in getting players prepared for the event.

A huge thank you to referees/volunteers who did an excellent job to help the tournament run so smoothly and efficiently and to Mark Palmer who organised the results table so professionally.

To encourage further development of Boccia we have a team event for players with a disability on Saturday 21st October 2017 and a BC3 pairs competition on the same day at Greenbank Sports Academy.

We will look forward to see so many talented athletes participating again; the entry form will be sent to club managers/coaches and will also be available on our website www.greenbanksportsacademy.co.uk  in due course.”
