Merseyside Schools Disability Basketball Tournament

We have been working with a number of local schools to offer sporting opportunities under the National Lottery funded Sportivate programme (funded locally via Merseyside Sports Partnership).

Participants from across Merseyside were brought together at the Academy on 19 January for a Disability Basketball tournament.

Sport Development Officer Steve Sullivan said “This was a highly competitive event and teams demonstrated that the coaching they had received as part of the Sportivate programme had paid off. A special thank you to all officials and volunteers in making this such a successful event and particular thanks to Felicity Molloy for organising the day”.

Congratulations to Crosby High School who won the Intermediate Group, beating Alt Bridge School 8:5 in the final. Also Broadgreen International School, who won the Novice Group, beating Merefield School 6:4.
