Schools Disability Basketball Competition
Five local schools; Merefield, Lansbury Bridge, Alt Bridge, Crosby High and West Kirby Residential sent eight teams to compete in a Schools Disability Basketball competition organised by Greenbank Sports Academy on 20th March 2017.
In the spirit of fair competition, teams were split into three groups based on ability levels; novice, intermediate and advanced and it was a fantastic event for all players. In the novice final, Merefield beat Lansbury Bridge, 4 points to nil. Crosby High’s A and B teams dominated in both the Advanced and Intermediate finals beating Alt Bridge’s A and B teams by 5 points to 4 and 6 points to 5, respectively.
Organiser Steve Sullivan said:
“Congratulations to all players who took part and huge thanks to our referees and volunteers who made the day run so smoothly.”
