Almost fifty physically disabled children from five Merseyside schools (Sandfield Park, Woodchurch High, Broadgreen International School, Merefield and Lansbury Bridge) took part in the Lord’s Taverners Physical Disability Boccia Tournament 2017. This was held at Greenbank Sports Academy on 13th November, to determine the 2 teams to represent Merseyside at the Regional Event on 8th February 2018.

After some exciting play, this honour was awarded to Broadgreen International School (IS) and Lansbury Bridge A. Broadgreen were the tournament winners.

Organiser Steve Sullivan said:

“This was a great event, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all the competitors.

A huge thank you to Lord’s Taverners and Panathlon Challenge Association for funding it and to volunteers and referees who did an excellent job to help the tournament run smoothly.”
