Merseyside Schools Pan Disability Boccia Tournament 2017
More than seventy children travelled from schoold across Merseyside: Sandfield Park, Bluebell Park, Merefield, Crosby High, Woodchurch High, Knowsley Central and Alt Bridge High, to take part in the Merseyside Pan Disability Boccia Tournament 2017 at Greenbank Sports Academy on 6th November.
They were competing for the honour of representing Merseyside in the Lord’s Taverners Regional Pan Disability competition on 8th February 2018. This was awarded to the event finalists, Knowsley Central’s A and C teams.
The overall tournament winner was Knowsley Central A, who beat Knowlsey Central C in the final by a convincing 9 to 0.
Tournament organiser Steve Sullivan said:
“it’s been a great event, with excellent games throughout the day. Knowsley Central A were a deserved winner, having remained unbeaten all day.
Thanks to Lord’s Taverners and Panathlon Challenge Association for providing resources to support the event and to Greenbank College and Liverpool John Moores University students who refereed and ensured the smooth running of the tournament.”
