65 players from all over the country took part in the Greenbank Open Boccia Tournament on Sunday 29th March at Greenbank Sports Academy. It was a highly competitive and friendly competition with a high standard of play throughout.

Organiser Steve Sullivan was full of praise for volunteers and officials:

“ A huge thank you to the volunteers and referees who did an excellent job to help the tournament run so smoothly and professionally which is so important when we have over 120 games to play throughout the day.”

He also emphasised the importance of further development of the sport to ensure that standards continue to improve:

“We hope to encourage further development of Boccia in 2015 with our Choices team competition on Sunday 19th July 2015 and the Merseyside Open on Sunday 4th October 2015 and we look forward to see so many talented players participating again.

There is also an opportunity to play Boccia at Greenbank Sports Academy most Wednesdays from 6 to 7pm – no need to book, just turn up. Novices and experienced players welcome. ”
